KNITTED BOW FOR DECORATION

YOU CAN’T GO WRONG WITH A LITTLE BIT OF EXTRA DECORATION. THIS IS A GUIDE ON HOW TO KNIT A DECORATIVE BOW THAT GOES VERY WELL WITH ORBIT, OR JUST USED AS A BROACH IN IT SELF.

First bow piece

Using 2.5mm needles, cast on 15 sts.
Row 1: K.
Row 2: K1, K2tog, K to last 2 sts, Kfb, K1.
Repeat these 2 rows until the piece measures 8,5 cm, then cast off. Put to one side.

Second bow piece

Using 2.5mm needles, cast on 20 sts.
Row 1: K.
Row 2: K1, K2tog, K to last 2 sts, Kfb, K1.
Repeat these 2 rows until the piece measures 8,5 cm, then cast off. Put to one side.

Center piece

Using 2.5mm needles cast on 6 sts.

K till it measures 3,5 cm, then cast off, leaving a long end, for making the bow up.

Make up

Layer up the two bow pieces and center them,.then fold the center piece around the bow and stitch the ends of the center piece together. To secure the bow pieces stitch through both a few times. Then either sew the bow on to your knitted garment, or attach a broach needle so it can be moved or used as a decoration.
